3D Botanical Cushions
Flicking through this months issue of Mollie Makes (Issue 40), these 3D botanical cushions caught my eye in the corner of a page. These cushions are made by Sabine Herrmann, i followed the website link to see more of her creations.

This is the cushion that was featured in the magazine.

"The succulent image is custom printed on cotton-canvas. On the back of the pillow, I've used beautiful, thick linen and a decorative stitch along the seam line to give it a personal touch."

Here are a few more cushions which i find really inspiring.

"The leaf image is custom printed on cotton-canvas. On the back of the pillow, I've used beautiful, thick linen and a decorative stitch along the seam line to give it a personal touch. Piping follows the stem of the leaf image on the front of the pillow which gives it a very sculptural feel."

This pine cone cushion is so realistic from the front angle, amazing!

I also really like her branding!

My neck piece that I have recently made is similar to these cushions as the petals on my lilies are made from photocopies of the actual petals which makes them seem lifelike.

Parrots!
I found these brightly coloured decorative plates in the new arrivals section on anthropologie's website.
I thought the parrot design was similar to paperchase's new range 'zanzibar' which i seen in store the other day but after going to the paperchase website to look at the range again, they are not as similar as I first thought they were!

I love this range! It's really bold and exotic and i really like the vibrant, vivid colour scheme.
Great mix of colours!

Carola Van Dyke
A scrumptious mix of
cushions, textile taxidermy heads and paintings for your home. Cushion designs
include countryside, dogs, birds, cats, moths and skulls.
I love the mix of different patterned vintage fabrics she uses to create each piece.
Unique and quirky!

Anthropologie - Gift Guide
I have collected together some products, printed and embroidered, whilst browsing http://www.anthropologie.eu/anthro/index.jsp to create another gift guide. I love the Christmas light print on the apron, the embroidered tea towel and the waterlily cushion.

Not On The High Street - Gift Guide
I have collected together some printed products whilst browsing http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/ to create a gift guide. I really like the Thornback & Peel bird and egg cushion and the 'every cloud has a silver lining' print would bring a pop of colour to a plain boring wall. These would make great Christmas Gifts!

TRENDS - PANTONE FASHION + HOME
| http://www.pantone.co.uk/pages/fcr/Default.aspx?season=spring&year=2014&pid=3 Designers take a modern twist on the traditional for spring 2014 by pairing soft pastels with vivid bright's to create a colourful equilibrium. Inspired by a mixture of blooming flowers, travels abroad and strong, confident women, designers use colour to refresh, revive and defy conventional wisdom. "This season, consumers are looking for a state of thoughtful, emotional and artistic equilibrium," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute®. "While this need for stability is reflected in the composition of the palette, the inherent versatility of the individual colours allows for experimentation with new looks and colour combinations." |
