Soap Packaging

http://www.wgsn.com/content/report/HBL/Trend_Analysis/2014/March/beautiful-soaps--portugal.html

Scrolling through the WGSN website this soap packaging caught my eye. The labels remind me of the labels on the vintage perfume bottles I have been looking at for my current project. They are really decorative and colourful.

'Portugal is known for its beautifully wrapped traditional soaps. Packaging is covered in pretty floral motifs, vintage prints and old-fashioned letterings, lending soaps an air of charming desuetude.'

This textile piece has a great mix of electric colours. The materials used creates great textures. The materials used were weft yarns, vibrant silks, space dyed knots and ladder yarns.

WGSN - Abstract Florals

3. Sungmin at Premiere Vision Spring/Summer 2015 4. Lemar at Premiere Vision Spring/Summer 2015

Here are a few images from the S/S15 vision. Multiple florals have been layered up which gives the prints depth. The vibrant colours and blurry effect give the prints an abstract feel. I really like the top left print, it is eye catching and has an inky effect.

I find this neck piece interesting. It has a geometric theme, industrial design and a grey scale colour scheme.

I really like this neck piece. Its very bright and colourful with a gemotric pattern. I really like the pastel colours the designer had used.

TRENDS - WGSN

A year in advance of production, WGSN demonstrates how the key themes apply to design and product collections. Trends are defined with specific reference to womenswear, menswear, kidswear, sports, accessories and more, with detailed recommendations on key colour, items, silhouettes, styling and graphics.

I was browsing the trends and found these two that I quite liked, seasonal interiors and seasonal gifting!
