Digital Print Samples

After playing around with my marbling sheets on Photoshop I decided to see what some of them would be like digitally printed. I am really pleased with the end result and I will definitely use it more in future projects.

Modroc and paper mache sculptures

These pictures show the process of making my carousel horses head.

I firstly tried to make a paper patter which dint go to plan so I then tried to make a paper mache model of the head. As I used 6 layers of paper mache the head came out quite bulky and I wanted the detail of the horses face so this wasn't suitable for my final product.

I then tried using modroc and made a cast of the head which has caught the detail of the face and straps. I am happy with how it has turned out.
Now I will have to think about how to mount it onto a wall displayed in a frame.

Embroidered Wall Art

I went to Kiwi Trading looking for old mirrors and picture frames to transform them into a series of embroidered wall art pieces. The first thing I found when walking in was this!
It cost me £7!
I think it looks similar to the mirrors that were used on carousel rides.

Large picture frame from Kiwi Trading which I plan to transform into an embroidered textile wall art piece for my current project!

Struggling...

I'm not getting into this project as much as I thought I would. I have a had very slow start even after having so many crits!!!!
After every crit I have changed my mind about my concept/theme, I'm not sure whether they have helped or hindered me.
I have collected some primary sources to create some 3D paper drawings, a rose (the enchanted rose from beauty and the beast) and an apple (snow whites poisonous apple).

Fairground Fairytale

My two moodboards for my new project
The theme/concept for my project is fairground fairytale!

Self Portrait

Here are some pictures of my final product which has the theme/concept self portrait.

Animal Stole

Here are some pictures of my finished product, a seahorse animal stole.
The brief was to create an animal stole choosing an animal of my choice. I chose to go for a slightly more unusually animal rather than going for the obvious animal stole choices such as a fox, a badger etc..
